A high strength steel sheet for automobile having excellent resistance to secondary work embrittlement and surface quality by compositely controlling contents of Si, P, Cu and Mo that influence plating characteristics without addition of Mn and Ti, and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. A Ti-Mn free high formability high strength steel sheet for automobile having excellent resistance to secondary work embrittlement and surface quality comprises, by weight percent, 0.0030 to 0.0060% of C, 0.3% or less of Si, 0.10% or less of P, 0.015% or less of S, 0.1% or less of Al, 0.08 to 0.20% of Cu, 0.08 to 0.25% of Mo, 0.03 to 0.06% of Nb, 0.0040% or less of N, 0.0005 to 0.0025% of B, and the balance of Fe and other unavoidable impurities, wherein Si, P, Mo and Cu in the constituents satisfy a relational expression of ([Si]+[P])/([Mo]+[Cu])=0.5 to 1.0.
