摘要 A power transmission device for a hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) is provided to save a space occupied by the power transmission device in an engine room by reducing volume thereof, and thereby improve design freedom for layout. A power transmission device for a hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) comprises an engine(1), an input shaft(5), an electric motor(7), a gear train(9), a power generator(11), a clutch unit, a brake unit(29), and a power output unit. The engine generates a driving force, and the input shaft is transmitted with the driving force from a crank shaft(3) of the engine. The electric motor includes first and second pinion gears(13,15), and first and second side gears(17,19). The gear train receives driving forces from the engine and the electric motor and transmits the driving forces to a wheel-side driving path. The power generator is mounted on a charging path of the gear train. The clutch unit selectively transmits/interrupts the power to be supplied to the driving path and the charging path. The brake unit transmits the driving forces to an output side. The power output unit outputs to the outside the driving force transmitted from the gear train.
