An apparatus and a method for transmitting an image in an image display device having an EPF(Electronic Picture Frame) function are provided to immediately transmit an image for which a user wishes to the outside. A key input unit(105) allows a user to input a desired request command. An image capture unit(108) captures a received image signal. An image signal input unit(109) allows the user to input a desired image. The first memory(106) stores the images inputted through the image capture unit(108) and the image signal input unit(109). The second memory(107) stores an image photographed through an external photographing device. A control unit(110) controls the first memory(106) or the second memory(107) to be capable of transmitting the image stored in the first memory(106) or the second memory(107) to the outside according to the request of the user. A communication unit(111) transmits the corresponding image to a place set up by the user according to a control signal of the control unit(110).
