A structure for preventing collapse of a road pier against floating material is provided to absorb shock due to heavy floating material, such as wood, into a buffer drum in flood, and to actively guide stream of river water by regulating flow direction of water by turning the buffer drum. A structure for preventing collapse of a road pier includes a couple of mountings(10) provided with a clamp(12), a support part(14) extended in front of the clamp and combined with a couple of buffer cylinders(16) and a plate(18) provided with a shaft hole and combined with a cylinder rod of the buffer cylinder to support the plate against water stream, oppositely spaced apart from each other and installed along the pier; a rolling shaft combined with the shaft hole of the plate of the mounting and arranged in parallel with the pier; and a buffer drum(30) provided with an assembling hole and inclined blades(32) arranged at regular intervals and rotated on the rolling shaft in flowing water. The buffer drum is moved up and down on the rolling shaft by forming the axial length of the buffer drum to be shorter than the axial length of the rolling shaft, and the height of the buffer drum is varied according to the river water level by mounting a float(40) on the upper part of the buffer drum. |
