Timber bottom plate for use in building floors

A method of construction and related assemblies reliant upon the use of a timber member (finger jointed or otherwise) adapted for use as a bottom plate by virtue of being provided with at least one transverse groove, whereby even when the surface with the groove is positioned on a flat supporting surface such as floor panels, there is a prospect of water flow between the supporting surface and the plate via the passageway thus defined.
