Provided are a phosphor paste composition that minimizes deterioration of phosphors by heat, is applicable to many phosphor-forming methods such as a screen printing method, and has improved printability, and a phosphor layer prepared therefrom. The phosphor paste composition comprises 1-50 parts by weight of a binder resin and 40-400 parts by weight of a solvent based on 100 parts by weight of a phosphor powder. The phosphor powder has an average particle size of 0.5-2micron. The binder resin is an acryl-based polymer resin, a vinyl-based polymer resin, or a mixture thereof, which has a molecular weight of 100,000 to 5,000,000. The binder resin has a thermal decomposition temperature of 400-450‹C.
