PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein in a conventional garbage treatment apparatus using a microorganism, a partial component in the garbage such as fat and a substance produced in a microorganism decomposition process are left and accumulated in a treatment tank and deteriorate a microorganism growth environment such as an oxygen-feeding ability to a fungus bed and a moisture content movement ability, an activity of the microorganism is reduced and a decomposition efficiency of the garbage is reduced. SOLUTION: A means for measuring the activity of the microorganism and a dissolving/separation means for feeding a solution for dissolving and removing the fat remained in a treatment tank and the substance deposited on a solid substance such as the fungus bed or the like and produced in the microorganism decomposition process to a treatment tank content are provided. When the activity of the microorganism is lowered, the dissolving/separation means is operated.
