<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device in which an image display section can be easily replaced, and an image display method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: An inputted image signal is converted to the image signal of a predetermined format in a signal processing section 10 and supplied from an interface section 101 to an image display section 20. In the image display section 20, a predetermined image adjusting processing is applied to the image signal which is received via the interface section 206 and the corresponding image is displayed on the image display section 20. In this way, by converting the format of the image signal in the signal processing section 10 and by applying the image quality adjusting processing in the image display section 20, processing of the signal processing section 10 is not directly related to a display system of the display section 204, even when the display system in the display section 204 of the image display section 20 is changed, and thereby, changing the structure of the signal processing section 10 becomes unnecessary.
