<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering apparatus for a vehicle capable of simplifying its structure without degrading an antitheft feature. <P>SOLUTION: In this apparatus, a magnet 25 constituting a steering angle detector 51 is detachable from the vehicle 1. With the magnet 25 detached, the steering angle detector 51 cannot exhibit a function of detecting a steering angle produced by a steering operation. The magnet 25 is integrated with a mobile device 21. Accordingly, carrying the magnet 25 with the mobile device 21 permits the vehicle 1 to be parked with the steering operation disabled. In addition, this can eliminate the use of an additional mechanical antitheft device, thus simplifying a structure of a mechanism to be fitted around an instrument panel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
