PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing heavy metals from a plant containing heavy metals and to enable effective utilization of the plant containing heavy metals.

SOLUTION: Rice starch powder free from heavy metals is prepared from brown rice or polished rice without deteriorating the molecular structure of amylopectin and amylose and the form of starch granule by using a step to stir rice flour in a specific solution.
