PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a three-dimensional shape simultaneously with design of a two-dimensional arrangement of rooms in a house when the house is designed. SOLUTION: A design cube has a solid model which is formed by reducing unit spaces constituting the house and provided with a coupling means at a specified position and a plurality of layout plates where a layout of objective unit spaces of the solid model is displayed, and a layout plate corresponding to a function of a target unit space is selected out of the plurality of layout plates and fitted to the bottom of the solid model. In a designing method, a plurality of design cubes having shapes and functions needed to constitutes the target house and coupled together through the coupling means to recognize a three-dimensional shape simultaneously with the design of the arrangement of rooms.
