PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste treatment furnace allowing uniform contact of combustion support gas or air blowing-in from a tuyere with the whole coke inside the furnace. SOLUTION: In this waste treatment furnace, a diameter of the tuyere is set such that a ratio obtained by dividing a total cross section thereof by a horizontal average cross section of the furnace of the bottommost stage tuyere and a topmost stage tuyere position becomes 5% or above. Thereby, spread of the blowing-in air or combustion support gas into the melting furnace is enlarged to uniformly bring the blowing-in air or combustion support gas into contact with the whole coke inside the furnace.
