Packaging (11) has container made of thermo-plastic material and a cover (3) sealed on top, which after the packaging has been separated from the film web (8) has a horizontal tear-off strip (7) protuding from the container edge. Otherwise all that remains after the packaging has been punched out is a grid without hanging parts of cover material. Holes (2) or break-through surfaces (44) are put in the film web which are bigger than the tear-off strips on the cover. After the sealing or punching out the strips remain in their horizontal position or are bent around the container sides (27). The packaging is separated off using slits in the film web without thereby damaging the tear-off strips.
