<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform abstraction processing optimally adapted a user request or scene utilization. <P>SOLUTION: As shown in Fig. 10, this imaging apparatus for monitoring comprises an image data acquisition section M001 installed in a facility or a room in order to acquire a video image, a section M002 for extracting a figure and an object from the thus extracted video image, a section M003 for detecting and determing the gesture and action of the extracted figure, a section M004 for calculating the significance of the detected gesture and action, a section M005 for determining a processing object area in the video image from the calculation result, a section M006 for calculating the degree of abstraction, a section M007 for performing image processing of the processing object area from the calculated degree of abstraction, and a section M008 for performing a predetermined processing, e.g. outputting to an external television monitor, so that optimal processing can be performed automatically depending on a situation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
