The invention relates to a prefabricated modular tower of the type that is used as a support for wind generators as well as for other applications. The invention is characterised in that it makes use of reduced-thickness prefabricated elements which are reinforced with an internal structure comprising horizontal and vertical stiffeners and which are preferably made from reinforced concrete, said elements being tensioned both horizontally and vertically by means of flexible metal cables. The invention is advantageous in that it can be used for the rapid construction of very high towers using a reduced number of elements which are light and easy to transport, while providing significant savings in terms of production, transport and installation costs.
