<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information recording/reproducing device which enables accurate tracking by reducing the offset of a tracking error signal due to a diffracted light from a recording mark on an adjacent track when a track pitch is narrowed down. <P>SOLUTION: A (circular) area of size, which is 0.2-1.0 time as large as the beam diameter of a reflected light beam reflected by a recording medium 7 from the beam center, is guided by a mask 8 to an optical detector 10 as the light beam of a tracking error detection area, and a tracking error signal St is generated by an arithmetic circuit 11 from an output signal of the optical detector 10, and on the basis of this tracking error signal St, an objective lens 6 is controlled in the direction of track width through a phase compensating circuit 12, an actuator driver circuit 13 and a tracking actuator coil 15, thereby the tracking is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
