PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminaire capable of improving uniformity of luminance of a translucent panel without luminance unevenness on the translucent panel. SOLUTION: The luminaire 1 comprises an apparatus main body 2, a straight tube type fluorescent lamp as a lamp held on the apparatus main body 2, a translucent panel 4 for transmitting light by covering the straight tube type fluorescent lamp 3, a diffusion cover 5 installed by corresponding to a front surface of the straight tube type fluorescent lamp 3 between the straight tube type fluorescent lamp 3 and the translucent panel 4 for diffusing light directly from the straight tube type fluorescent lamp 3. The diffusion cover 5 is fixed on the apparatus main body 2 in a predetermined mounting position so as to uniform light from the straight tube type fluorescent lamp 3 and emit the light from the translucent panel 4 by engaging a projection part 52 provided on the diffusion cover 5 with a hole for fixation 23 provided on the apparatus main body 2.
