PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root hair treatment apparatus designed to prevent sand stuck on root vegetables from falling onto the conveyor chain to improve the durability of the chain. SOLUTION: The root hair treatment apparatus 10 has such a construction that circular chains 19 circulatingly driven through the upper and lower parts of a frame 11 are attached with multiple mounting materials 18 at intervals in the circulating direction and burners 29 and 31 for burning and removing root hair of taros A on the mounting materials 18 are attached to the frame 11. In this apparatus 10, the mounting materials 18 are consecutively joined together, for each of which the central root vegetable-mounting part 18a and circular chain attachment parts 8c on both ends are set apart from each other, and the joint positions are provided with a chain-protecting cover 20 that blocks the circular chains 19 on both sides from the central root vegetable-mounting part 18a, wherein the cover 20 is vertically arranged from the upper drive position to the lower drive position of the circular chains 19.
