PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a diaphragm driving mechanism and a camera equipped with the diaphragm driving mechanism. SOLUTION: Regarding the diaphragm driving mechanism 12, a cam plate 18 is freely rotatably supported by a diaphragm case 14, and the cam plate 18 is rotated by a surface acoustic wave actuator 20, then, an aperture blade 16 is rotated to increase/decrease the diameter of the aperture 13.
