PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for kneading molding sand by adding additive agents to the sand, which apparatus can stabilize the quality of the molding sand and can efficiently manufacture the molding sand by controlling the temperature of the sand. SOLUTION: The apparatus 15 for kneading the molding sand is configured such that the apparatus 15 comprises a container 20 to be charged with heated sand, a heat retaining means 21 for keeping the temperature of the content in the container 20, a heating means 22 for heating the container 20, agitating vanes 25 for agitating the content in the container 20, and further comprises a high temperature container 16 for kneading the sand and a resinoid binding agent 8, a container 26 to be charged with the sand from the high temperature container, a cooling means 27 for forcibly cooling the content in the container 26, an exhaust means 28 for forcibly exhausting the gas existing in the container 26, and agitating vanes 29 for agitating the content in the container 26, wherein the molding sand is processed by kneading the sand and the additive agents in a low temperature container 17 for kneading the sand, a hardening agent 7, a lubricant 6, and other additive agents.
