PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a random reproduction automatically when a reproduction mode is decided to be random reproduction. SOLUTION: A recording medium is loaded on a reproducing apparatus and is read out by read-out position control based on a recorded identifier, and a motion picture is coded as a stream consisting of an in-frame coded picture and a coded picture between frames, and comprises a recording area for recording the two or more streams therein and a recording area different from that for the streams where an identifier is recorded, which discriminates whether the two or more streams are reproduced and represented continuously or randomly.
