PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a longitudinal break detection device for a conveyor belt capable of finding fatigue damage of the resonant circuits of a detected body at an early stage and capable of reducing false detection of a belt longitudinal break. SOLUTION: The longitudinal break detection device comprises two detection units 18A, 18B disposed side by side at a predetermined distance in a direction of movement of the conveyor belt 14 in which the plurality of resonance circuits 6 are embedded at every predetermined distance. Detection sensitivity for a resonating condition by the detection units 18A, 18B is set at different values from each other. A judgment unit 19 judges that the fatigue damage occurs in the resonant circuit 6 when the detection unit 18A having the detection sensitivity set low does not resonate with the resonant circuit 6 and when the detection unit 18A having the detection sensitivity set high resonates with that resonant circuit 6. The judgment unit judges that the longitudinal break occurs in the conveyor belt and a conductive wire of the resonant circuit 6 is cut when at least the detection unit 18A having the detection sensitivity set high does not resonate with that resonant circuit 6.
