摘要 A semi-transmission type LCD is provided to equalize the cell gaps of a reflection part and a transmission part in a pixel region, by making slit widths of a pixel electrode different in the reflection part and the transmission part to control the rotation angle of a liquid crystal. A gate line and a data line vertically cross each other to define a pixel region on a lower substrate(111), wherein the pixel region is divided into a reflection part(R) and a transmission part(T). A thin film transistor is formed at a crossing point of the gate line and the data line. A common line is parallel to the gate line. A counter electrode(124) is formed within the reflection part of the pixel region, and contacted with the common line. A reflective electrode(160) is formed within the reflection part of the pixel region, and contacted with the counter electrode. An insulating layer is formed on the resultant substrate comprising the reflective electrode. A pixel electrode(117) is formed on the insulation layer. The pixel electrode has a first slit disposed in the reflection part of the pixel region and a second slit disposed in the transmission part of the pixel region, wherein a width of the second slit is smaller than a width of the first slit. An upper substrate(121) is opposite to the lower substrate with a liquid crystal layer(131) therebetween.
