A television receiver is provided to allow the convenient connection with external devices and simplify the constituent components thereof by receiving various signals inputted from the external devices using a single common port. A common port(201) is connected to an external device or an Internet network. The common port(201) receives image signals, sound signals, and various types of data. A controller(202) checks the characteristics of signals inputted through the common port(201), and controls the distribution paths of the input signals according to signal types of the checked signals. A signal distributor(203) distributes various signals, which are inputted through the common port(201), to an image decoder, an audio decoder, and a video decoder.
