PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve search performance for a target reproduction point by promptly finding the target reproduction point in a simple operation when a final portion of an optional track or an optional chapter in a recording medium is reproduced. SOLUTION: During reproduction of an optical disk, when a user selects an end review key 49 from a plurality of operation keys formed in an operation section 40 and presses down the key, the chapter number of a chapter in reproduction at a point when the end review key 49 is pressed down is checked. Then, based on management information recorded in the optical disk, quick return and reproduction of the optical disk are performed from an end point of the chapter in reproduction at the point when the end review key 49 is pressed down (that is, a starting point of a chapter subsequent to the relevant chapter) to a starting point of the relevant chapter.
