The seal has a sealing lip (10) including a circular edge at its inner side, where the edge is in contact with a contact surface (30) when the seal is in compressed condition. The edge is formed by a contact edge of two partial surfaces proceeding along the surface of the seal. The seal is fixed at a side of a cover facing a base plate and the contact surface surrounds an electrical connecting socket.
