<p>A rocker arm (100) made by forming a plate-like material has a pair of sidewall sections (1); a connection section (2) for a valve stem receiving section and a connection section (3) for a pivot receiving section that connect the sidewall sections (1); and an opening (4) for roller placement, provided between the connection sections. The distance between the outer surfaces of the pair of sidewall sections (1) at the connection section (2) for a valve stem receiving section is steppedly reduced with two or more steps, from the upper edge toward the lower edge of the section, and this forms first outer surfaces (21) and second outer surfaces (22). Further, the distance between the inner surfaces of the pair of sidewall sections (1) at the connection section (2) for a valve stem receiving section is steppedly increased with one or more steps, toward the lower edge of the section. Also, offset amounts that are steps at the outer surfaces of the sidewall sections (1) are 0.2 to 2.0 times the thickness of the material.</p> |
