A method for reserving a broadcasting program is provided to offer the optimum video/audio to a viewer by presetting a video/audio mode suitable for the liking of the viewer in reservation record or reservation viewing. A viewer selects a broadcasting program for a viewing reservation by referring to a broadcasting program schedule(S11,S12). A control unit sets a video/audio mode for the selected broadcasting program(S13,S14). The control unit stores a video/audio mode conventionally set up as default and the set video/audio mode(S15-S17). The broadcasting program schedule is extracted from EPG(Electronic Program Guide) information provided from each broadcasting company.
