PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber 1 having more remarkable vibration damping effect than before even with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: In this shock absorber 1 having a mass element 11 contacted with a vibration damping object 3, when external force is applied to the vibration damping object 3, the mass element 11 absorbs energy by the external force to move separately from the vibration damping object 3. The shock absorber 1 has a pressurization means imparting force to a direction opposite to the external force to the vibration damping object 3 when the external force is applied to the vibration damping object 3.
