<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of detecting a remaining amount of a fuel without trouble; and to provide a method for calculating a remaining amount of a fuel. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell unit is provided with: a mixing tank 45 for producing a fuel aqueous solution; a fuel cartridge 43 for housing a fuel; an EEPROM 99 for storing solution feed amount information for feeding the fuel to the mixing tank 45; a fuel supply pump 44 for feeding the fuel to the mixing tank 45 from the fuel cartridge 43; and a temperature sensor/solution amount sensor/voltage monitor 106 of respective parts connected to the fuel supply pump 44 for measuring the number of revolutions of the fuel supply pump 44 until the fuel is depleted. The solution feed amount information is newly calculated on the basis of the count of the number of revolutions obtained from the measurement result; the remaining amount of the fuel is calculated from the new solution feed amount information; and the new solution feed amount information is stored in the EEPROM 99 instead of the old solution feed amount information to update it. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
