PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the safety on the worker in the case of contact of a mowing knife with stone or concrete. SOLUTION: The electric mower 2 is provided with a main pipe 11, a driving part 12, a mowing head 13 and a display box 17. A mowing knife 14 is rotated by transmitting driving force from a driving motor in the driving part 12 through a transmission shaft in the main pipe 11 to the mowing knife 14 of the mowing head 13. The display box 17 is provided with a shock sensor to detect the shock transmitted to the main pipe 11. The driving part 12 has a motor-driving board to stop the driving motor when the shock level detected by the shock sensor exceeds a prescribed level. The mowing knife 14 can be stopped by the mechanism in the case of contact of the mowing knife 14 with a bottle or stone. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
