A chain-stitch sewing machine, comprising a looper disposed under a throat plate, having a thread lead-in port and a thread lead-out port, and rotatingly driven in synchronism with sewing operation and a plurality of thread feed ports connected to different thread feed sources. The sewing machine also comprises a connection member having a thread passage and selectively connecting either of the plurality of thread feed ports to the thread lead-in port of the looper through the thread passage. A thread passing mechanism passes a thread fed from the thread feed port led to the thread lead-in port of the looper through the connection member into the thread lead-in port of the looper and takes out it from the thread lead-out port. The connection member may be selectively moved so that the inlet of the thread passage can be aligned with either of the plurality of thread feed ports. The plurality of thread feed ports may be arranged parallel with each other in a circular arc shape.
