A mobile communication terminal and a mobile communication system capable of displaying CID(Caller ID) by using avatars are provided to induce a user's interest related to an avatar which is used in displaying the CID and to increase a profit for an avatar content provider. A mobile communication terminal capable of displaying CID(Caller ID) by using avatars comprises a main controller(16), an avatar component storage unit(13), an avatar processor(15) and an avatar storage unit(14). The main controller(16) extracts avatar index information from a received message if an alert with information message is received together with a call connection request from a mobile communication network via a forward traffic channel at a transmitting side's request of the call connection. The avatar component storage unit(13) stores each component of the avatar. The avatar processor(15) receives the avatar index information from the main controller(16), reads the avatar components, matched with the avatar index information, from the avatar component storage unit(13), assembles the read avatar components into one complete avatar, and displays the assembled avatar on an LCD while a call arrival sound rings. The avatar storage unit(14) stores the avatar displayed by the avatar processor(15).
