A traffic information supply method is provided to reduce the cost for using traffic information by generating speed data on each region according to day and time on the basis of traveling information data of many taxies and then executing navigation reflecting the real traffic situation by generating route data based on the speed data. A traffic information supply method comprises processes for collecting traveling information data from taxies(SP10); analyzing the collected traveling information data and generating speed data for each region on the basis of the analysis result(SP11,SP12); generating route data to the desired destination by using the speed data(SP13); and guiding a vehicle by using the route data(SP14). The traveling information data collecting process comprises the steps of detecting the position of the taxi by using a GPS(Global Positioning System) and calculating the speed for each region according to the position of the taxi by using a speedometer and generating the calculated speed as the traveling information data. |
