PIPE AUTO-ALIGNMENT APPARATUS AND METHOD

An automatic pipe aligning equipment that corrects roundness of both ends of the pipes during welding of pipes, constantly adjusts a distance between both ends of the pipes during welding of pipes, reduces an injection amount of argon gas for TIG(tungsten inert gas) welding, and removes oxide films or unnecessary beads formed on a welding portion within the pipes after welding is provided. An equipment for automatically aligning two pipes comprises: a drive unit(140) comprising a rotation means capable of traveling an inner wall of the pipes, a rotation drive means for driving the rotation means, and a close adhesion means for closely adhering the rotation means onto the inner wall of the pipes, wherein the drive unit moves the equipment to a joint of the two pipes; a guide unit(130) comprising a rotation means capable of traveling an inner wall of the pipes, and a close adhesion means for closely adhering the rotation means onto the inner wall of the pipes, wherein the guide unit interlocked with rotation of the drive unit to supports traveling of the drive unit along the inner wall of the pipes; roundness correcting units(110) for correcting cross section of a joint of the pipes in a circular shape; a balance unit for moving both ends of the automatic pipe aligning equipment in a radius direction of the pipes; and a distance adjusting unit(150) for adjusting a distance between both ends of the pipes.
