An apparatus and a method for transmitting data of an image display device are provided to transmit video data, audio data and information data to various external devices according to conditions set by a user. An apparatus for transmitting data of an image display device includes an image display(100) and a plurality of external devices(200). The image display processes video data, audio data and information data such that the video data, the audio data and the information data are transmitted according to a condition set by a user. The external device receives data from among the video data, the audio data and the information data, which corresponds thereto, and outputs the received data. The image display includes a key input unit(107) by which a transmission condition a user wants is set, a memory(109) for storing the transmission condition, a controller(108) for controlling data according to the transmission condition to be output, and a communication unit(105) communicated with the plurality of external devices in response to a control signal of the controller.
