An IMA(Inverse Multiplexing for ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode)) ICP(IMA Control Protocol) cell receiving method of each port in a base station trunk board is provided to be capable of preventing IMA settings from getting abnormal owing to ICP cell information of another port, even in case group IDs are changed. Plural ports receive IMA ICP cells, and temporarily store the received IMA ICP cells in a common buffer(S201). The respective ports decide whether the received ICP cells are valid(S202). If so, the respective ports collectively extract group IDs from the received ICP cells(S204). If errors are generated from the received ICP cells, processing for the corresponding ports is ignored while processing for a next port is conducted(S205,S209).
