PURPOSE:To increase productivity of an electrode group and make compact by using a grid structure of synthetic resin. CONSTITUTION:In a panel obtained by forming a plurality of grid structures for electrode plate with polypropylene, a current collecting lug 4 and a connecting part 6 which also acts as electrical connector are formed in a vertical direction to make easy to immerse in molten lead. The grid structure is immersed in molten lead in the order of a portion a, a portion b, and a portion c for 0.1- 1sec, and cooled with cold wind or cold water to form a thin film 7 of lead or lead alloy. Active material is filled in the same way as a conventional lead alloy grid and applied formation. This electrode panel is cut along lines 8 with a metal cutter to form an electrode plate. The negative plate 2 is bent to a U- shape form at an angle of 180 deg. at the position of the connector 6 in its long direction and wraps a positive plate 1 and a mat-shaped separator 3 comprising glass fiber to form an electrode group. |
