PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor capable of avoiding a failure in the starting and installation of a new application by reducing a possibility that an error occurs since a memory is insufficient and hence the application cannot be started in the information processor. SOLUTION: The information processor comprises a CPU 101, a display 102, and the memory 103. In the CPU 101, the maximum amount of memory used is acquired for each application, the sum of the maximum amount of memory used for each application is calculated, the sum of the maximum amount of memory used is added to the maximum amount of memory used of the application to be activated stored in the memory 103, it is determined whether the sum of the calculated maximum amount of memory used for each application exceeds a permissible amount when the starting of the application is requested, and a warning or an error message is displayed on the display 102 when the sum of the maximum amount of memory used exceeds the permissible amount.
