A trip prevention device of an elevator is provided to secure a safety of passenger by initially sensing the trip of the elevator and stopping the elevator. In a trip preventive device of an elevator, a governor frame(21) includes a governor wheel(22) to be rotatable inside. A stoppage wheel(31) coaxially connected to the governor wheel(22) includes a plurality of stopping grooves(31a) formed at a circumference. A stoppage lever(32) rotatably hinge-connected to one side of the governor frame(21) includes a stopping pin(32a) which is inserted into the stopping groove(31a). And, a stoppage lever operating unit connected to the other end of the stoppage lever(32) rotates the stoppage lever(32).
