<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal container for boiling and retorting which absorbs oxygen permeating into the container for preventing color change and composition degradation owing to the oxidation of food, which is superior in preserving a content and can endure severe conditions such as boiling and retorting. <P>SOLUTION: This seal container comprises a molded container 20 having a gas barrier characteristic and a cover material 10 heat sealed to the container 20 with a content 30 stored. The container 20 comprises a thermoplastic resin outer layer 12, a barrier thermoplastic resin intermediate layer 14, and a thermoplastic resin inner layer 16 laminated in the order. The cover material 10 comprises a laminated body comprising an outer layer 2 comprising a heatproof base film, a barrier intermediate layer 4, an intermediate layer 6 comprising a thermoplastic resin layer containing an oxygen absorbing material and an inner layer 8 comprising a thermoplastic resin layer laminated in the order.
