PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce fluctuation in carrying amount of recording paper sheets 170 caused by a kicking phenomenon. SOLUTION: A carrying device comprises: a carrying drive roller 152 disposed to a carrying passage for recording paper sheets 170 to be rotary-driven; a plurality of carrying driven rollers 810, 910 arranged to be opposed to the carrying drive roller 152 sandwiching the carrying passage therebetween; and load applying parts 800, 900 applying loads on the carrying driven rollers 810, 910 toward the carrying drive roller 152. Axes of a carrying roller and carrying driven rollers 810, 910 to which loads are applied by the load applying parts 800, 922 are arranged on a single face in the carrying direction of the recording paper sheet 170. A position where at least one of the plurality of carrying driven rollers 810, 910 releases the recording paper sheet 170 is different in carrying direction from a position where the other carrying driven rollers 810, 910 release the recording paper sheet 170.
