PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rust preventive having rust prevention effect higher than that of the conventional various treatment agents such as rust preventives for metal, and also having the performance of various treatment agents such as a water repellent-oil repellent agent, a resin sticking preventive, an oil barrier agent and a stain preventive required for metal parts. SOLUTION: The rust preventive is a composition comprising: a polyfluoroalkyl group-containing mercapto compound expressed by the following formula (1), R<SP>f1</SP>-(CH<SB>2</SB>)n-X-(CH<SB>2</SB>)m-SH (wherein, R<SP>f1</SP>is a polyfluoroalkyl group; and X is a linking group) and a fluorine-containing polymer.
