PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method and image forming apparatus in which a peripheral image outside a region of a main image can be prevented from being modified or its accuracy can be prevented from being reduced even after a gradation density of binary dot image data is corrected. SOLUTION: The disclosed image forming method includes outputting an image including the main image after gradation density correction processing based on the binary dot image data, and prohibiting the correction processing in accordance with an external region where a peripheral image outside the region of the main image can be formed.
