PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save a use area in a hard disk drive of a personal computer by storing only a driver and an application, which are necessary for peripheral devices connected to the personal computer, in the hard disk drive. SOLUTION: An information processing device is provided with; a first storage means which stores a basic program which is executed on a computer connectable to a peripheral device, a peripheral device-related program which is executed when a peripheral device is used, and an identification program which identifies the kind of a peripheral device connected to a computer; and a control means which executes the basic program, the peripheral device-related program and the identification program. The control means is provided with; a means which stores the kind of a peripheral device, which is being connected at present, by the execution of the identification program; and a means which stores a peripheral device-related program, which relates to a peripheral device being connected, in the first storage means from a second storage means, which stores a plurality of peripheral device-related programs, by means of the execution of the basic program.
