PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic vending machine for letting a purchaser know a position where merchandise is taken out without requiring any complicated mechanism. SOLUTION: This automatic vending machine is provided with a conveyance means 13 for discharging selected merchandise from a column 12, a taking-out position display means 11 for displaying the taking-out position of merchandise to be conveyed from each chamber by the conveyance means 13, an in-chamber setting means 18 for setting which chamber has each column, and an in-chamber setting storage means 19 for storing in-chamber setting set by the in-chamber setting means. When merchandise is discharged from the column 12 by the conveyance means 13, an arithmetic control part 24a decides which chamber has the column 13 of the merchandise to be conveyed by the in-chamber setting storing means 19, and makes only the taking-out position display means 11 corresponding to the decided chamber display the taking-out position for a predetermined time in order to let the purchaser easily know the taking-out position of the merchandise.
