PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital data recording device capable of storing, even at the interruption of recording, digital data recorded before the interruption in a reproducible state. SOLUTION: The digital data recording device comprises a recording part 3 recording digital data in a storage medium 4 in file units; a nonvolatile storage part 6 storing the data volume of the digital data recorded in the storage medium by the recording part 3; and a control part 5 setting, at the initialization of the storage medium, a single unrecorded area file having a continuous cluster chain on the whole recording area of digital data on the storage medium followed by the initialization, performing, at the recording of digital data, the recording along the continuous cluster chain by the recording part from the start of recording to the end of recording, and successively storing the data volume recorded in the storage medium in the nonvolatile storage part.
