The ensemble has six edges (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2f, 2g) in multi cell modules of a multi cell photovoltaic system and rounded edge transitions (3). A pair of solar cell has parallel edges, whose distance resembles the distance of two of other cells and their length varies over the solar cell ensemble. The rounded edges extend by an aperture angle of between 3 degree and 55 degree, and the cells are made up of silicon wafer columns. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a solar cell for a multicell photovoltaic system.
