<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of more rapidly controlling alignment of liquid crystal molecules, by reducing the number of the liquid crystal molecules, which are not affected by fringe field, to a minimum. <P>SOLUTION: Preferably, in the liquid crystal display device, an inclination member is formed on a common electrode panel, and a cut-out part is formed on a pixel electrode, wherein a plurality of grooves are formed at the cut-out part. The ridge line of the inclination member is mainly parallel to the cut-out part of the pixel electrode and is disposed between two adjacent cut-out parts. The valley line between the inclination members is mainly parallel to the cut-out part of the pixel electrode and is disposed opposite the cut-out part.
