A battery capable of improving cycle characteristics is provided. A cathode and an anode are oppositely arranged with a separator in between. An electrolytic solution is impregnated in the separator. The electrolytic solution contains a derivative of cyclic carbonate having halogen atoms such as 4-fluoro-1,3-dioxolane-2-one and 4-chloro-1,3-dioxolane-2-one; and a cyclic acid anhydride such as succinic anhydride.
